Field Compliance Coordinator

 

As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following disciplines; Engineering, Occupational Health, Safety, Fire and Environmental or equivalent from a recognized provider. An advanced degree is preferred. 
 
You will have 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including at least 5 years in a safety role 
 
You will also have 
 
Internationally recognized Safety Professional certification, such as; NVQ Level 3 in Health & Safety or equivalent. 
 
NEBOSH National/International General Certificate in OHS or Nebosh International Technical Certificate in Oil and Gas Operational Safety. 
 
Certification International Occupational Health (IOH), ISO API-14001 Lead Auditor certification or equivalent. 
 
You will be a certified Incident investigation/Root Cause Analysis Team Leader or equivalent. 
 
You will be a Fall Protection Instructor or as a minimum have received formal fall protection training. 
 
Preferably you will be a Confined Space Entry Instructor or as a minimum the incumbent will have received formal confined space entry training. 
 
Preferably you will have IADC Wellsharp or IWCF certification. 
 
You will have undergone formal permit to work training. 
 
You will have undergone formal lockout/tag out training.
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following: 
 
Comply with standards, procedures and guidelines.
 
 
Lead by example and set the standard by following safe procedures, practices and rules.
 
Perform all functions common to the Unit level as directed by the Team Lead/Direct line supervisor.
 
Measure compliance to the D&WO SMS by contractor compliance audits and continuous periodic rig and worksite inspections. Complete written reports accurately reflecting the results of audits and inspections. 
 
Promote safety awareness among employees by demonstrating behavioral observation skills. 
 
Conduct regular surveys to assess level of safety awareness.
 
Demonstrate Leadership by attending training as required by the organizational training matrix and when required participate in periodic general safety meetings, as well as work site safety meetings, pre-tour meetings or pre-task meetings.
 
Guide and assist where practical in the development of formal safety programs for departments in the area of responsibility, from definition to completion of the program and follow up, ensuring consistency with Company and Business Line policies, principles and practices.
 
Monitor and evaluate safety program controls and management systems; identify deficiencies and recommend practical improvements, guide and assist management where practical with their implementation and participate in selected formal assessments of program management systems.
 
Predominantly rig-based, the incumbent will make continuous onsite inspections of drilling and workover sites to evaluate the adequacy of the Safety programs, advising on compliance with D&WO SMS, Contractor SMS, Aramco standards, policy, procedures and instructions. Advise management on deficiencies with corrective actions affecting operation’s compliance to company accepted standards. Follows up to ensure compliance or application of equally effective alternatives based on sound safety principles. 
 
Participate in periodic competency evaluations.
 
Provide training and mentoring to rig personnel at a level appropriate to the incumbent’s competency and qualifications 
 
 
Identify areas needing formal risk analysis.
 
Serve on, and support the organization on selected incident investigation committees set up to investigate the root cause of incidents and means of preventing their recurrence. Assist department organization to follow up on recommendations with appropriate reports to Department Management.
 
Lead selected Root Cause Analysis investigations as the subject matter expert. 
 
Produce detailed reports using the TapRoot methodology that includes SMARTER recommendations to prevent reoccurrence.
 
Advise on the correct selection and use of personal protective equipment, safety systems, rescue planning and evaluate its effectiveness.
 
Verify facility emergency response plans are maintained, and required emergency drills are conducted.
