Chronos Consulting’s client is a global Life Sciences Services organization that provides analytical, bioanalytical, and clinical trial testing. They offer a wide-range of services to the Pharmaceutical, Biopharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Medical Device, and healthcare-related industries. 
 
We are seeking a General Manager to oversee day-to-day operations at the laboratory based in Fairfield, New Jersey, with overall responsibility for P&L, client development, revenue generation, project management, and service excellence. You are experienced in a laboratory testing environment and possess refined change management and leadership skills.
 
 
 
The Role
 
 
 
Reporting to the Vice President - North America, you will:
 
Maintain overall accountability of the laboratory facility, including P&L, operations, project management, change management, and supporting customer and employee growth and development
 
Deliver product test data to achieve client satisfaction by maintaining production and specified turnaround targets
 
Motivate and oversee various teams of scientists and QA personnel for optimum results (laboratory headcount is 70, with 4-6 direct reports)
 
Monitor production of each department and ensure optimum staff levels/shifts to achieve standards for productions, quality, and financial performance
 
Report weekly projection status, maintain production targets, and take proactive measures to sustain those targets
 
Meet with customers to determine opportunities, promoting the image, capability, and integrity of the company to clients
 
Ensure services are performed in accord with federal and local regulations
 
Accountable for Health, Safety, & Environment (HSE) of personnel and ensure safe work habits and clean working environment
 
 
 
The Requirements
 
Bachelor’s degree required (MBA or PhD desired), coupled with 10+ years of previous management experience in a service related laboratory environment
 
PMP a plus
 
Strong leadership skills and experience in managing technical teams and ensuring accountability
 
Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment 
 
Experience with turnaround projects and/or facilities
 
Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, the ability to coordinate and motivate a team towards a common goal
 
Proven track record of the ability to build trust and credibility within the organization
