The Hotel is a luxury 4 star hotel With 37 luxurious rooms this authentic castle  hotel offers guests a unique business, wedding, or leisure stay. For meetings and corporate events, the property offers state of the art services combines with a sequestered atmosphere for effective collaboration, and access to a wide variety of activities. For weddings  the hotel has impeccably appointed venue space, award winning food and beverage service, and privacy.  
 
The ideal candidate for this posting will be a leader who has excelled in full service GM postings and with an affinity to high profile luxury, can demonstrate success at leading complex, boutique, and demanding properties. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to drive strong sales leadership and operational excellence, using creativity to engage regionally and across the Ireland-UK-US business sectors.. Proven success in building strong owner and stakeholder relationships will be key and will demand a dynamic leader who can leverage their business acumen to deliver excellent performance within this highly competitive market. Metric driven performance and strong communication skills will be imperative for effective communication with the private owner group. Bringing a strong sense of community and public relations, the successful candidate will be very comfortable participating in and hosting very high profile regional and international events and demonstrating strong communication, networking and PR skills. Prior experience and appreciation of luxury or lifestyle brands and current market knowledge will be advantageous.
 
 
POSITION SUMMARY
 
As the lead Ambassador at our hotel, the General Manager ensures that the intent of Hotel and associated offerings are pulled through in every aspect of the guest experience.  The General Manager represents the owners’ vison and values in all leadership actions.  He develops, measures, and helps achieve Key Performance Indicators.
 
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  
 
Leadership: 
Requires a dynamic, results-oriented leader with the ability to gain Leadership Team alignment around challenging goals and to hold them accountable for achieving the necessary results. Must be highly visible, approachable and results-oriented; able to relate well with associates and guests. Effective communication skills are paramount. Requires strong situational leadership and creative problem resolution skills.  Mus tie innovation and initiative to experiance and proper resource allocation.
Sales & Marketing:
The hotel operates in a highly competitive market and demands a GM with heavy involvement in driving sales leadership for the hotel. As a small venue, emphasis on group sales and associated activities (Conferences, weddings, etc.)  is essential. Must have proven and documented track record of successfully leading sales, creating new business and re-positioning.  The General manager will drive marketing efforts for current and emergent offerings. The General Manager will balance sales leadership commitments with operational excellence objectives. Exceptional customer relationship and "closing" skills required - namely, with meeting planners, strategic accounts and high-profile individual customers. Must have demonstrated ability to manage a hotel in a challenging, locally driven market environment.
                
Community Relations:
Engages in community (County and Region) activities representing the hotel’s interests. This includes active involvement in the County Council, and tourism boards.
 
Operations:
Requires strong operational savvy, excellent product and passion for service excellence.  Implements an effective staff handbook.  Oversees staffing for routine and surge operations. Depth of expertise and knowledge of hotel bookkeeping, Tax and employee regulations.     
 
Financial:
Track record of strong, pro-active financial management to ensure revenue and flow-through is optimized. Readily uses financial data to determine trends and leverage resources to drive financial results.  Proven ability to manage P&L responsibilities.  Provides cost-benefit analysis for all policy changes and initiatives.
Owner Relations:
Must have prior experience with developing and sustaining a productive business partnership with property owners or owner representatives.
