Chronos Consulting's client is seeking a Chemistry Lab Manager to supervise and manage a team in instrumental and non-instrumental analyses. Due to expansion, we are seeking a hands on manager to lead a team of 20-30+ Chemists.
Location: Relocation support offered within USA
Reporting to the Lab Director, you will be responsible for:
Overseeing lab work involving calibration, analysis, and judgement of samples using instrumental and wet chemistry techniques.
Monitoring others in updating and loading work into LIMS as well as handling complex LIMS reporting and scheduling.
Coaching and supporting team members
Aiding team in instrument maintenance and more advanced troubleshooting issues.
Conducting training for analysts and technicians as required, and finding opportunities for continuous improvement.
Reviewing team/individual performance and monitoring staffing levels, schedules, and work requirements, with responsibility over laboratory costs and overtime.
Responding to corrective actions and data inquiries.
Representing the group in client visits and audits.
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field
8-15+ years of experience (at least 3+ years managing a team)
Analytical experience a plus along with a production laboratory background.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
Strong written and oral communication skills, coupled with experience and desire to coach and manage a team of 20-30+ Chemists
Experience working with and resolving customer complaints.
Effective presentations skills and experience presenting to internal and external leadership
